Chiefs’ Valdes-Scantling Bemoans Having to Find Dogsitter for Team’s Germany Trip

0

The Chiefs and Dolphins are traveling to Germany this week for a heavyweight matchup between two of the top teams in the AFC. The overseas game means both teams will fly nine hours after playing last week ahead of the big matchup.

However, besides the time change and travel commitment, the game in Germany has created a very specific issue for Chiefs wide receiver Marquez Valdes-Scantling.

“It does suck for the players to have to be away from their families, or (I've) got to find a babysitter for my dogs for a couple days,” he said, via CBS Sports. “Things that we’ve got to take into account. But past that, it is what it is.”

Valdes-Scantling will only be in Germany for a few days, but that will still be more time away from his home than a normal road trip.

Kansas City hasn’t left for Germany yet, but they will leave Thursday afternoon after practice aiming to get in on Friday morning. Miami, meanwhile, is already in Frankfurt, having arrived in Germany on Tuesday.

This will be the NFL’s fourth overseas game of the season, with the first three being played in England earlier in the year. After Miami and Kansas City play this week, the Colts and Patriots will also fly to Frankfurt to play in Germany next week.
