The EFL Trophy will now be sponsored by Bristol Street Motors after the League agreed a three-year deal with the award-winning national automotive brand. As well as being the title-sponsor of the competition until the end of the 2025/26 season, Bristol Street Motors will also become the Official Car Dealer of the EFL.

The overall prize pot of almost £3 million, which provides significant revenue for each League One and League Two Club, will increase over the next two years with an unnamed investment from Bristol Street Motors. The Premier League will continue to invest significantly to ensure their B teams will be involved as Academy U21 sides.

The EFL continue to say that the competition is popular but the fact remains that only 300,000 spectators attended games.

The #BTeamBoycott hashtag started after Checkatrade took over the sponsorship for a competition that is intended for League One and League Two, but the EFL allowed the competitiomn to be devalued by Academy teams to be included.
