Ayr United v Queen’s Park – Robin’s View

0

Queen’s Park travel to Ayr United on Saturday looking for their first win at Somerset Park since Alan Trouten scored an injury time winner in a 3-2 success back in August 2007.

Queen’s last visit to the west coast ended in a goalless draw back in April in a game where Alex Bannon came on before half-time and put in a fine display against Dipo Akinyemi who was certainly in form at that time.

Spiders Head Coach Robin Veldman brought QPTV up to date with how preparations are going for the weekend.

Robin covered:

  • Partick Thistle Frustration and Positives!
  • Spirit in the Squad
  • Ten Young Queen’s Park Players
  • Efficient Ayr
  • Spies out
  • Injury news on last week’s squad

The cinch Championship so far
Ayr sit fourth in the table with 13 points from 11 games with Queen’s going into the game knowing that they would move up the table and above the Honest Men with a win.

The Spiders have drawn their last three Championship outings with Ayr heading into this one with a win, a defeat and a draw in their last trio of games.

Home striker Ruari Paton is looking over his shoulder in the Championship goalscoring to team-mate Jack Turner who is up to three, after scoring in the last two games, just two behind the number nine.

Squad News
Last week’s squad will go again if Alex Bannon shakes off a knock with Barry Hepburn available to be added to it following a suspension.
