Ethan Crumbley's mom told prisoners she blames husband for son's school shooting: report

The mother of school shooter Ethan Crumbley said her husband is responsible for her son's deadly rampage because he helped the teen purchase the gun he used, the New York Post reported.

According to prosecutors, Jennifer Crumbley has been telling inmates at the jail she's housed in that her husband is responsible for the shooting that killed four students in a Michigan high school in 2021.

“James Crumbley should be aware of the fact that (his wife) Jennifer Crumbley has placed blame on him in jail communications,” Assistant Oakland County Prosecutor Marc Keast wrote.

James and Jennifer Crumbley have been charged with four counts of involuntary manslaughter. They have pleaded not guilty.

She also claimed James ignored their son's mental health issues.

Ethan, 17, will be sentenced on Dec. 7 and faces life in prison without parole.
