Virat Kohli missed out on a chance to equal Sachin Tendulkar's record of 49 One Day International (ODI) hundreds at Wankhede stadium. However, he showed his class with a solid 88 off 94 balls and 189 runs for the second wicket with Shubman Gill. Former Pakistan legend Wasim Akram praised Kohli for his batting against Sri Lanka and for his big second wicket stand with Gill after they lost Rohit Sharma early in the first over. He said that experience matters, and that when wickets fell, they kept scoring five an over, four an over.
