Emmerdale fans furious as Sam Dingle wrongly arrested for Craig Reed’s murder – fuming ‘you’re dumb’
EMMERDALE fans have been left furious after Sam Dingle was wrongly arrested for Craig Reed’s murder.
Last night’s episode featured a major twist as it was revealed that Craig was actually killed by Kim Tate’s horse, Ice, after Craig spooked the animal while trying to get Kim to help him.

Sam now thinks his blows contributed to Craig’s death, but half-brother Cain witnessed Ice rear up and hit Craig, and has yet to tell Sam what he saw.
Instead, Cain insisted Sam stick to his alibi that he was with Lydia all day, despite Lydia claiming she wouldn’t be able to maintain the lie when questioned by police.
She fled the house, and when the police did call, they only had Sam to question and soon noticed the cuts and bruises on his knuckles.
Sam lied and said he’d injured his hand while fixing a fence, but in the final moments, the cops returned and cornered Sam again.
The female detective informed Sam: “We’ve found traces of DNA from blood on Mr Reed that don’t match the victim.
“My guess would be, whoever attacked him injured themselves in the process.”
As Sam glanced down at his hand, she continued: “It won’t take us long to get a positive ID back from forensics, saves us the time and effort of interrogating possible suspects.”
Sam caved and replied: “Alright! I hit him but I didn’t kill him! He got up and walked off, he was shouting stuff at me.
“He weren’t dead when I left him, nowhere near.”
Unfortunately, it didn’t stop the police from arresting Sam on suspicion of Craig’s murder.
Cain arrived just as Sam was about to get in the police’s car and asked where their evidence was.
But Sam told him: “Just leave it Cain, there’s no point. Tell Lydia I’m sorry.”
Emmerdale viewers were furious with the situation, and took to X – formerly Twitter – to vent.
One wrote: “Sam should’ve told police about the fight at the beginning.”
Another added: “Dumb ass Sam FFS.”
A third tweeted: “Doesn’t know when too shut up just like his wife.”
Emmerdale airs on ITV1 and is available on ITVX.
