'Not shameful to resign': Jamie Raskin takes red pen to typo-ridden George Santos letter
Responding to a thank-you letter from Rep. George Santos (R-NY) sent to all House members who voted against expelling him this week, Rep. Jamie Raskin (D-MD) took a copy of the letter and marked it up, correcting Santos' spelling and grammatical errors.
In his notes, Raskin included the message, “It’s not shameful to resign.”
Raskin voted “No” on House Resolution 773 to expel Santos, saying in a Wednesday statement that it would set a “terrible precedent” because an expulsion neglects “internal due process.” He noted that no member has ever been expelled absent a criminal conviction, versus a federal indictment alone.

Raskin also pointed out that Santos had “not been criminally convicted yet of any of the offenses he has been indicted for.”
“If Members are not going to be expelled for purely political reasons, we need to stick to due process and the rule of law,” Raskin said.
The corrections by Raskin note that Santos spelled "principles" wrong, and forgot to includes "to which" in a separate section.
