BSP-Nueva Ecija hosts 2023 Regional Venture Camp, Rover Moot
The Central Luzon Regional Venture Camp was originally scheduled on April 25-30, 2023, but have to be postponed due to scheduling difficulties.
PALAYAN CITY, Nueva Ecija— More than 3,000 Scouts and Adult Leaders convened to join the 2023 Regional Scout Venture Camp and 2023 Regional Rover Moot of the Boy Scouts of the Philippines – Central Luzon Region (BSP-CLR) on Sunday, November 5, at Palayan City, Nueva Ecija.
This is the first regional camp of BSP-CLR since the pandemic hit in 2020. Different local jamborees were conducted by different councils under the region to build up this anticipated event both by the Scouts and Adult Leaders.
BSP – Nueva Ecija Council is the host for this year’s event and was joined by Senior Scouts, Rover Scouts, and Adult Leaders from nine other councils under the region. Here is the list of local councils who sent their delegates:

- Aurora Council
- Bataan Council
- Bulacan Council
- Cabanatuan City Council
- James L. Gordon Council
- Nueva Ecija Council
- Pampanga Council
- Ramon Magsaysay Council
- Tarlac Council
The opening program was graced by big names in the Scouting community including Palayan City Mayor Viandrei Nicole Cuevas who delivered her welcoming remarks to thousands of delegates Sunday afternoon.
Vice Governor Emmanuel Antonio Umali was also present in the event. He is the Council Chairperson of Nueva Ecija Council and the Camp Chief of the week-long event.
Umali quoted the founder of the Scouting movement, Baden-Powell, in his inspirational message later on calling the Scouts to not just wish but act through Scouting.
“Let’s stop wishing, let’s start Scouting, dahil ito na po ang panahon para kumilos,” he said.
Assistant Secretary for Operation of the DepEd was also present as one of the guest speakers.
Asec. Dexter Galban shared their plans for mental health programs for holistic development. Galban was a Scout as shared in their message of inspiration.
“Scouting is the only one [which] accept[ed] me,” Galban said.
The assistant secretary also added that Scouting inspired him to pursue nursing to help other people.
Senior Scouts are expected to participate in activities such as Challenge Valley, Land and Air Scouting Expidition, Development Village, and the Better World Framework of World Organization of the Scout Movement (WOSM) for the whole week.
While Rover Scouts joining the Rover Moot will be participating in a more tailor-fitted programs for their section including Rover Congress, community immersion, and socialization night.
The 2023 Regional Scout Venture Camp and Regional Rover Moot will end on Friday, November 10.
