US Secretary of State Antony Blinken said he discussed with his Turkish counterpart Hakan Fidan on Monday efforts to expand humanitarian efforts in Gaza and to prevent the conflict in the region from spreading. However, with Turkey demanding an immediate ceasefire by Israel and the US insisting it should be allowed to continue its offensive against Hamas, there are big differences between Washington and Ankara's stance on the conflict that are likely to be difficult to resolve, says France 24's correspondent in Ankara Jasper Mortimer.
