Angela Rippon breaks silence after she’s accused of looking ‘furious’ at Strictly judges comments
ANGELA Rippon has spoken out after being accused of looking ‘furious’ when judges on Strictly gave her feedback in the last competition.
The 79-year-old TV presenter made it through to the next round after being placed in the bottom two on the dancing programme and narrowly beating Adam Thomas in a dance off.
Now she has spoken out against claims that she was angry when the judges gave her some critiques.
While on spin off show Strictly: It Takes Two, which provides a look behind the scenes at the experiences of the celebs and dancers, she was asked about the incident.
She explained: “I think when the judges have something which is constructive criticism you really should listen to what they say.
“I know a lot of people thought I was being grumpy and was furious with the judges but it could not have been further from the truth. It was my listening face!”
Strictly has been facing a fix row ever since the dance off, as a lot of fans called producers out for the show being ‘rigged’.
Viewers have made claims that producers decided to save Angela despite her making blunders for a particular reason.
The show host previously presented Come Dancing – Strictly’s predecessor show – in Blackpool.
Some think show bosses were determined to see Angela return to dance in the Blackpool ballroom she used to host the BBC programme in.
However, judge Craig has hit back at the accusations, saying: “So, viewers when surprised when I gave Angela a 9 for her Charleston, the highest score from the judges.
“I can give high marks on occasion, too, you know – I’m not always the villain of the piece, darlings!
“Technically, Angela made a hard dance look easy. It’s not! She’s unstoppable.”
