Leeds Tykes v Wharfedale – Match Preview

Leeds and Wharfedale fixtures are fairly rare. According to the records we only played each other 4 times in League matches. These matches took place in the seasons 1997/7 and 1997/8. Wharfedale won one and Leeds won 3 and were promoted to the Championship in 1998 and then on to the Premiership. We enjoyed a close relationship with the Headingley outfit and “borrowed” some fine players from them.

They now find themselves plying their trade in National 2 North and are enjoying life at this level. Played 9; Won 9 with a try bonus point in every game. Pretty impressive. …
