I’m a gynaecologist’s PA – 4 things I’d NEVER do, including why I always strip off my cossie as soon as I’m out the pool

A PA in a gynaecologist’s office has revealed the top four things you should never do.

Taylor Passero is board certified and often uses her social media accounts to share women’s health tips and tricks.

And in one video, she shared: “Four things I would never do as a PA working in OB/GYN…”

The first thing she warned others about is to never stay in sweaty and tight leggings after going to the gym.

She explained that it’s not a good idea to stay in those clothes while running errands as it’s a “sure way to get a yeast infection” or bacterial vaginosis.

This is because yeast thrives in warm, moist environments and tight sweaty clothes can contribute to this.

“Two, I would never use different soaps that have scents or fragrances in it,” she continued.

“When travelling, I would always bring my own bar of Dove soap.

“Again, that’s a sure way to get a yeast infection.”

According to Healthline, fragranced soap can “irritate the sensitive skin in and around the vulva”.

They added that you should avoid scented products down below “at all costs”, adding: “Scented products — whether they’re soaps, washes, or sprays — can irritate the vagina and the vulva.”

The third piece of advice she had for viewers was one specifically for beach and pool-side holidays.

She said: “When on vacation, I would never stay in a wet bathing suit for a long period of time.”

This, again, can lead to bacteria festering in the moist area, which can cause a yeast infection.

TikTok user @gyno_girls added: “And four, I would never not pee after sex… Do you wanna get a UTI?”

According to Healthline, it’s not necessary to pee after having sex, but it does help prevent urinary tract infections.

“Peeing after sex can help flush bacteria that was introduced during intercourse away from your urethra,” they stated.

“Although it isn’t a foolproof way to prevent sex-related UTIs, it’s one fairly easy way to try.”

People were quick to comment as one person wrote: “I still get a yeast infection with Dove with fragrance. all soap must be unscented.”

She replied: “Yes! 100% unscented”.

Another shared: “The last 2 are so true! I’ve made those mistakes and will never do that again.”

While a third joked: “I do all of those things and I’ve never had a yeast infection or UTI”.
