Emmerdale airs shock exit for fan favourite after star suddenly quit the soap

EMMERDALE has aired a shock exit for Bernice Blackstock after actress Samantha Giles quit the soap.

The B&B owner made a sudden departure in tonight’s episode after it was revealed she was hiding a shocking secret.

In recent days Bernice has been seen receiving a large number of parcels.

She had been shopping for expensive gifts and items for her business – brushing aside any concerns others have had about the cost.

But tonight it emerged that it wasn’t Bernice’s money.

Instead she had fraudulently taken out a loan for a whopping twenty grand in her sister Nicola’s name.

And when she knew the bailiffs were coming – she took Nicola for lunch before hiding while Nicola’s home was ransacked.

With Jimmy away, Nicola suspected him – before making a chilling discovery.

She went to see her sister for support but simply found a note.

Reading it she realised that Bernice had defrauded her – and worst of all – had fled the village to leave her to deal with it alone.

“It was Bernice,” Nicola told Bob. 

“She took a loan out in my name for £20,000 and she can’t face me. She’s done a runner.”

Viewers were in shock at the exit.

One wrote: “Bernice has confessed in a letter and now she’s done a runner. OMG is that her exit?”

A second urged: “Forget she’s your sister, Nicola – ring the police & get them to stop her leaving the country!”

Another added: “I don’t believe Bernice would do that!!”

Although some weren’t impressed with her departure, with one writing: “That’s such a rubbish exit for Bernice.”

“That’s Bernice gone, then” a second added.

“What a ridiculously low-key exit for Bernice,” a third agreed.
