Brown is slated to receive the Excellence in Acting Award for his remarkable portrayal in Cord Jefferson’s satirical drama “American Fiction,” which served as the festival's opening film on Nov. 3. Owing to overwhelming demand, a supplementary screening is scheduled for Nov. 11 at 10 a.m. MST. During this session, Brown, a three-time Emmy winner and the lead in IFC’s “Biosphere” earlier this year, will participate in a discussion with writer, producer, and podcast host Larry Wilmore.
