The high-flying businessman was arrested at his West London home on suspicion of rape, sexual assault, voyeurism and causing grievous bodily harm in September.

He works at Infosys Consulting, part of the Indian IT company co-founded in 1981 by N.R. Narayana Murthy, the father of the Prime Minister’s wife, Akshata Murty.

The management consultancy practice was created within Infosys in 2004.

Akshata has a £490million stake in her family’s business, making her richer than King Charles.

The vast majority of her and Mr Sunak’s enormous wealth comes from Infosys.

The company, which calls itself a global leader in next-generation digital services and consulting, has had contracts with the British government as well as many UK companies.

The Met police said: “A man in his 40s has been arrested on suspicion of a number of sexual offences against four women.

“The allegations include rape, sexual assault, voyeurism and causing grievous bodily harm.

“The man was arrested on 21 September and has been released on bail. Enquiries are ongoing.”

Infosys declined to comment.
