Grey and drizzly start to Monday
Hello Friends,
Wind’s been blowing SSE since midnight so, as you can see from the pic, the ocean was a churning mess at Dee Why as Monday got started. The Bureau tells that the wind will continue southerly all day before swinging to the NE. Swell was 2.6 metres at 10 seconds from 187°, so the main energy is staying offshore. Throw in gloomy, drizzly skies and you have an excellent reason to get on with other things for now.
Weather should be a bit nicer tomorrow morning and the wind should be light north for the early, but the models are showing only a small, short period SE wind swell for Tuesday. Those same models continue to show a long period south pulse on Wednesday with light wind early but more gloomy grey weather to go with it. Thursday and Friday look equally dull on the weather score but with some shortish period south swell to keep hopes alive.
Go well everyone!
Weather Situation
A high pressure system near New Zealand is directing northeasterly winds along the northern half of the New South Wales coast, while a trough is bringing a southerly change to all waters except the far north this morning. The trough will reach the Queensland border today before rapidly weakening. Behind this, a weak high over the Tasman Sea is forecast to bring a brief return to northerly winds in most areas during Tuesday, before the next trough and southerly change on Wednesday and Thursday.
