Courteney Cox breaks silence on Matthew Perry’s death as she mourns ‘funny and kind’ Friends co-star in tragic tribute
COURTENEY Cox has shared her sad thoughts after the loss of friend and co-star Matthew Perry.
Courteney joins fellow Friends star Matt LeBlanc in eulogizing the late actor.
Courteney and Matthew played friends-turned-lovers on the sitcom[/caption]Courteney, who played Monica Geller on the classic sitcom, shared some personal memories to her Instagram page.
“I am so grateful for every moment I had with you Matty and I miss you every day,” the 59-year-old wrote.
“When you work with someone as closely as I did with Matthew, there are thousands of moments I wish I could share. For now here’s one of my favorites.
“To give a little backstory, Chandler and Monica were supposed to have a one night fling in London. But because of the audience’s reaction, it became the beginning of their love story.
“In this scene, before we started rolling, he whispered a funny line for me to say.
“He often did things like that. He was funny and he was kind.”
FRIENDS FOREVER
Matthew was found dead in his hot tub last month. He was 54.
After weeks of silence, Matt LeBlanc, 56, was the first on Tuesday to share an emotional message on Instagram.
“It is with a heavy heart I say goodbye,” he wrote.
“The times we had together are honestly among the favorite times of my life.
“It was an honor to share the stage with you and to call you my friend.
“I will always smile when I think of you and I’ll never forget you. Never.
“Spread your wings and fly brother you’re finally free. Much love.”
The star finished with a touch of brevity, further demonstrating their friendship.
“And I guess you’re keeping the 20 bucks you owe me.”
SAYING GOODBYE
Earlier this month, Matthew‘s family and Friends co-stars gathered in Los Angeles to say an emotional goodbye to the beloved actor.
His funeral was held at Forest Lawn Church of the Hills, just down the road from where the actor and his castmates filmed the iconic series Friends for 10 years.
The ceremony in Los Angeles seemed to be an intimate event with about 20 or so people in attendance.
Matthew’s co-stars, Jennifer Aniston, Lisa Kudrow, Courteney Cox, and David Schwimmer, were all dressed in black as they arrived at the church.
Matt also attended the two-hour-long service, joining Matthew’s father, John Bennett Perry, and stepfather, Keith Morrison.
Photos showed mourners in all black comforting one another on the lawn at the funeral home.
