Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched a new Rs 24,000-crore scheme for the development of vulnerable tribal groups in Jharkhand's Khunti district. The scheme aims to save 75 particularly vulnerable tribal groups from extinction and create awareness about government welfare schemes. Modi also visited the native village of tribal revolutionary Birsa Munda and inaugurated projects worth Rs 7,200 crore in Jharkhand. He identified four pillars of development for the country's future: women's empowerment, farming, the youth, and the middle class and poor.
