Campbell breaks ground on library renovation project
Groundbreaking library
The City of Campbell and the Santa Clara County Library District broke ground for the fully renovated Campbell Library on Friday, Nov. 10.
The renovated library, located at 77 Harrison Ave., will include collaborative meeting rooms, a fully equipped community room, children’s play spaces and dedicated spaces for children, teens and adults. Construction is expected to be completed by summer 2025.
“With the full renovation offering bright, open and welcoming spaces, we look forward to providing Campbell residents a destination to read, relax, attend a program, learn a new skill or get together with others to work, study and socialize,” County Librarian Jennifer Weeks said in a statement.

Cancer support fundraiser
In a tribute to the late Trudy Blechman, founder of Trudys Brides and Special Occasions in The Pruneyard shopping center, Steven Blechman, her son and second-generation owner, is joining forces with Morilee by Madeline Gardner to raise funds for the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network. Through Nov. 27, brides can get a $200 discount on a new Morilee bridal gown from the spring 2024 collection. With each purchase, Trudys and Morilee will donate $200 to PanCAN, which supports those impacted by pancreatic cancer.
Blechman, who lost his mother to pancreatic cancer in 2018, said, “I wish I had known about the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network at the time because it could have helped us. I now want to help others facing what my family went through with my mom, so they can benefit from the help and resources that PanCAN offers.”
