FAYETTEVILLE – Former Razorbacks Luke Long and Alvaro Ortiz each advanced to the final stage of PGA TOUR Q School presented by Korn Ferry.
Long finished second – one stroke off the lead – at his second stage event at Savannah, Ga. The Fayetteville native was 8-under-par through 12 holes and finished the day at 10-under to move up 19 spots and claim a spot at the final stage. Overall, Long was 14-under par with rounds of 67-73-72-62.
Long made the second stage after he won his first stage qualifying event by seven strokes with a score of -21 (69-69-66-63).
Ortiz was 2-under today at his second stage event in Port St. Lucie, Fla. The Razorback All-American and 2019 Latin America Amateur Champion advanced to the final stage as he tied for seventh with a 54-hole score of 281 (-7) with rounds of 73-72-66-70.
Ortiz was exempt into the second stage due to his playing status from last year.
In order the advance to the final stage, players had to finish among the top 15 with ties.
Four other Razorbacks were playing in the second stage.
Julian Perico (at Dothan, Ala,) was -6 after 54 holes (74-72-67-69=282) and tied for 16th. He missed advancing by one stroke as two players birdied their final hole to move the cut line from 6-under to 7-under. Perico advanced to the second stage after finishing second at his prequalifying event and placing second at his first stage event.
Mateo Fernandez de Oliveira (at Port St. Lucie, Fla.) was -2 through 54 holes (72-71-73-70=286) and tied for 22nd. He missed advancing by two strokes. Fernandez de Oliveira was exempt into the second round due to his PAG TOUR University standings from this past year.
Luis Garza (at Dothan, Ala.) tied for 39th: 70-77-75-66+288 / E. Garza reached the second stage after winning his first stage event.
Tyson Reeder (at Dothan, Ala.) tied for 50th: 75-71=71-74=291 / +3. Reeder reached the second stage after finishing runner-up to Garza in the first stage.
Wil Gibson (at Dothan, Ala.) tied for 50th: 72-71-71-74=291 / +3. Gibson was runner-up at his prequalifying event and tied for second with Reeder in the first stage.

Top five finishers and ties at Final Stage will earn PGA TOUR cards
Next 40 finishers and ties at Final Stage will earn exempt status through multiple reshuffles of the 2024 Korn Ferry Tour season, with the first 25 finishers and ties being subject to the third reshuffle, and any remaining finishers within the category being subject to the second reshuffle
All remaining finishers at Final Stage will have Korn Ferry Tour membership, in addition to being exempt through the Latin America Swing of the 2024 PGA TOUR Americas season
