Trippier played the entire 90 minutes in the 2-0 win over Malta on Friday.
The 33-year-old has 46 England caps to his name.
His withdrawal could see Kyle Walker or Rico Lewis start in his place at full-back.
Trippier is the latest Three Lions ace to withdraw from the squad with Gareth Southgate dealing with a selection dilemma.
The manager has already seen Jude Bellingham, Marcus Rashford, Levi Colwill, James Maddison, Lewis Dunk and Callum Wilson pull out in the build-up to the two fixtures.
It led to Lewis, Cole Palmer and Ezri Konsa earning their first call-ups to the national team.
England have already booked their place in Euro 2024 and will finish top of Group C.
