Man arrested after death of woman found with serious injuries inside home

A man has been arrested after a woman who was found with serious injuries at her home in Yorkshire died.

Police launched a manhunt for the suspect after they were called to a property in the Ravensthorpe area of Dewsbury shortly before 6.45pm on Sunday.

Officers discovered a woman inside who had been badly hurt and she later succumbed to her injuries.

Shortly after midnight, West Yorkshire Police said it was carrying out ‘significant enquiries’ to find and arrest the suspect.

Footage from the scene showed a huge police presence and an air ambulance landed nearby.

Dozens of armed officers were also reported to be in the area and a number of cordons were in place, reports Sky News.

A police helicopter was also spotted circling overhead.

Cops said the manhunt ended at around 5.50am on Monday.

The man has not yet been charged and the victim is yet to be named.
