- Philadelphia Phillies right-hander Aaron Nola has signed a seven-year/$172 million contract extension. He reportedly met with other teams but turned down offers of more money to remain in Philly.
- The San Diego Padres have signed shortstop Mason McCoy to a minor league deal, which includes an invitation to big league spring training.
- RHP Kyle Keller, who was a former Miami Marlins draft pick and has pitched in Japan for the past two season, is drawing interest from six MLB clubs.
- The Los Angeles Dodgers are in talks to acquire RHP Dylan Cease from the Chicago White Sox, although no deal has been finalized yet.
