The Election Commission reported that Mizoram had a significant seizure of drugs valued at Rs 29.82 crore before the assembly elections. No cash or precious metals were recovered from the state. Across the five poll-bound states, there was a cumulative seizure of over Rs 1,760 crore in freebies, drugs, cash, liquor, and precious metals. Telangana had the highest drug seizures valued at Rs 103.74 crore, while Mizoram had seizures of freebies and other items valued at Rs 15.16 crore. The Election Commission deployed officers to ensure vigilant oversight during the elections.
