Season five follows Dot, a housewife with a dark past played by Juno Temple.
Jon Hamm costars as Roy Tillman, the sheriff who is after Dot.
Noah Hawley's crime-drama anthology series, "Fargo," is back for a fifth season on FX.
The show debuted back in 2014 and is loosely adapted from the Coen brothers' 1996 movie of the same name, but the show has since expanded to tell its own bizarre, darkly comedic stories.
Season five, premiering Tuesday, centers on British star Juno Temple as a seemingly normal housewife, Dot, who has a mysterious past. She's forced to get help from her powerful mother-in-law (Jennifer Jason Leigh) when a sheriff (Jon Hamm) comes looking for her.
In addition to Temple, Leigh, and Hamm, "Fargo" has recruited many other talented stars for its latest chapter.
Here's a look at the new cast and who they each play.
Juno Temple plays Dorothy "Dot" Lyon.
British star Juno Temple leads the new season as housewife Dot, who has seemingly fled a dark past to make a new life for herself in Minnesota.
In an ominous teaser, Dot is surprised by someone ringing her doorbell while she's baking, and suddenly arms herself with a taser, a pistol, and a spiked bat.
Dot is on the run from a sheriff, and she has to turn to her wealthy mother-in-law for help staying one step ahead of the law.
"Mad Men" star Jon Hamm plays Roy Tillman, the sheriff hunting Dot. He's got a tough-as-nails approach to police work, in case that wasn't obvious by the belt buckle he wears that says: "A hard man for hard times." His son, Gator, also helps in his search for Dot.
Joe Keery plays Gator Tillman.
"Stranger Things" star Joe Keery is playing the sheriff's son, Gator Tillman. Gator is a young member of the sheriff's department who's trying to live up to his dad's legacy. Unfortunately, he seems pretty hapless.
Jennifer Jason Leigh plays Lorraine Lyon.
Dot's wealthy mother-in-law, Lorraine Lyon, is played by "Fast Times at Ridgemont High" and "The Hateful Eight" star Jennifer Jason Leigh. Lorraine runs a hugely successful debt-collection agency, and uses her resources to help her daughter-in-law keep her past a secret.
David Rysdahl plays Wayne Lyon.
"No Exit" and "Oppenheimer" star David Rysdahl portrays Dot's husband, Wayne Lyon. Although he's softer than his mother would like, he still asks her for help in protecting his wife when Dot's past starts to catch up with her. While Lorraine runs the debt collection agency, Wayne runs a small car dealership.
Lamorne Morris plays Deputy Wit Farr.
"New Girl" fans will recognize Lamorne Morris, who played Winston in the sitcom. Morris plays Deputy Wit Farr, who appears to be working with Tillman in his pursuit of Dot in "Fargo" season five.
Richa Moorjani plays Deputy Indira Olmstead.
Wit Farr isn't the only deputy working with Tillman in the series. Richa Moorjani plays Deputy Indira Olmstead, a practical woman who is struggling to keep herself afloat as her husband tries to become a golfing champion.
Sam Spruell plays Ole Munch.
"Fargo" has always been known for its idiosyncratic characters, and Ole Munch, played by Sam Spruell, sounds like another strange addition to the anthology series. He's a drifter who has seemingly been around Minnesota forever, and is practically a force of nature because of how mysterious he is.
