My grandma had flawless skin in her 80s and only used a single skincare product, it’s $6 from the drugstore
A SKINCARE enthusiast is giving up her lengthy routine to try her grandmother’s signature product.
She said her family’s matriarch had flawless skin in her 80s, and her holy grail cream only cost $6 from the drugstore.
TikToker Madison Studio (@madisonood) made a TikTok video to reveal the simple routine.
“I confirmed all of her skincare routine with my mom,” she said. “It’s also way more simple than I ever thought.”
Madison said it was the only routine her grandmother followed throughout her life.
“It’s starting to make me think maybe we’re all doing way, way too much with our skincare,” she said.
Madison’s grandmother didn’t use sunscreen.
“But she didn’t really go in the sun because she would burn very easily,” she shared. “The best way really to prevent sun damage is to avoid the sun.”
Madison said the only product Grandma used was Pond’s Cold Moisturizing Deep Cream Cleanser.
It’s a moisturizing cleanser and makeup remover.
Hollywood icons like Marilyn Monroe and Audrey Hepburn “adored” the cream, per She Knows.
Pond’s Cold Cream can be purchased via Walmart’s website for $6.
Grandma used it more than for removing makeup, however.
“She used it every night to take off her makeup and then she put on a super, super thick layer,” she said.
The fresh scent has a nostalgic smell for Madison.
“It makes me so happy,” she said. “She had this specific smell whenever you would hug her and it was clean and just nice.”
Madison is going to give Grandma’s routine a try, but not without some hesitation.
“I’m a little trepidatious because I already have a 12-step Full Monty skincare routine, but we’re gonna try the Pond’s,” she said.
Madison promised to check back in a few weeks after the product had some time to work.
On Walmart’s website, Pond’s Cream has a rating of 4.1 out of 5 stars from more than 11,200 reviews.
Pond’s Cold Cream is the original makeup remover, according to Byrdie.
The main ingredients in the cream are water, mineral oil, and beeswax, the outlet said.
