A RAMPANT condensation problem has seen one woman seek a solution pronto.

She had a river running down her windows every morning before she found a way of addressing the issue.

Now, this messy difficulty is history thanks to a cheap buy and a hairdryer.

Sounds improbable but for Lauren (@thebuubproject), there are no more water courses in her house.

She was delighted to bid farewell to this annoying problem: “Say goodbye to condensation.”

In her post, she showed where the issue was at its worse.

“This is our porch,” she said. “Every morning we usually have a literal river running down these windows.”

But she had learned about an insulating film product and she tried it out.

“It’s called Tes Moll Thermocover and it’s amazing,” she said.

Similar products were available on Amazon for $19.

“I used this stuff last year, but I never used it on the porch,” she explain, an area of her house particularly affected by condensation.

So that’s what she did, and applied the film to the windows of her porch.

“It is basically shrink wrap plastic. And you put this double-sided sticky tape [around the edges, blocking any gaps].”

Aesthetically, it was lacking, but it made up for it in ridding the windows of condensation.

“I mean it doesn’t look great but who cares. And then use a hair dryer and shrink wrap it to the window.

“There’s a layer of plastic which now acts as insulation. That condensation that you can see, that is on the outside not the inside.”

Since fixing the film into position, the difference had been stark: “Yesterday morning, it was literally dripping down. They are genius.”

One commenter was already onto this tip: “I do this every winter. It’s a life saver.”

But there was a reviewer who loved it, but with some reservations.

“These made a difference, but beware,” they said.

“I bought a property that had single-glazed sash and the condensation was terrible.

“I will say that these did make a big difference when it came to the condensation,” they wrote.

Now came the sticky part: “However, trying to get the double-sided sticky tape off the windows that you have to use to put the film in place was a NIGHTMARE!”
