NINETIES rap icon Richard Usher looks unrecognisable 33 years after his global smash hit after the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie success.
Richard and James Alpern shot to fame in 1990 as part of the hip hop duo Parters in Kryme.
The pair, who used the stage names of DJ Keymaster Snow and MC Golden Voice, are best known for their number one hit Turtle Power!
The song featured in the movie, and went on to reach the top 40 in a number of countries including US, Australia, Germany and New Zealand.
Turtle Power! was number one in the UK for four weeks in 1990.
Nowadays Richard is the one that represents the band.
Last month he appeared on the TMNTminutePodcast with Scott Tofte.
The podcast’s official Instagram captioned a snap of them in the studio with: “@partnersinkryme enlisted our own Scott Tofte (@wrongdecademusic) to help coproduce a BRAND NEW RECORDING of #TURTLEPower for hip hop’s 50th anniversary.

Richard likes to update fans with what he gets up to on Instagram.
His bio states: “Partners in Kryme is the Gold & Platinumhip-hop group from NY- their hit song Turtle Power was in the Original TMNT Films!+Music Prod & Voiceovers.”
Back in July he celebrated his birthday and shared a post on the band’s social media platform.
He wrote: “It’s my Birthday!!
“Thankful for another trip around the Sun!!
“Wish me a HBD and Have a Slice for me!! News Alert:New Music On the Way!! So Stay Tuned!! Going to see the new Movie? .”
After their hit song the band went on to release a second song Undercover.
Their tune Love 2 Love U also appeared in the 1991 Cool as Ice film.
After years of no music, a new single Rock the Halfshell was released in 2015.
