San Francisco homicide: One killed in Tenderloin shootout

One person was killed and another was wounded in a shootout in San Francisco’s Tenderloin district Saturday morning, police said.

Officers responded at 4:18 a.m. to a report that two people were exchanging gunfire in the 400 block of Turk Street, at Hyde Street, police said.

Police found two people with apparent gunshot wounds. Both were taken to a hospital, where one was pronounced dead. The other’s injuries were described as non-life-threatening.
