Three years ago, my son might have received better initial health care and a faster diagnosis for his cancer had I simply followed Google’s advice and arranged an ultrasound for him. The Patient Experience Team at the Children’s Hospital of Eastern Ontario (CHEO) conceded this point to me last year. But that’s impossible in Ontario without a doctor’s referral.
