FERRARI’S next hypercar set to replace an iconic model has been spied during a test run out.
The Italian manufacturer was seen rolling out the prototype, complete with an aggressive aero kit and makeshift body panels.
More than 10 years have passed since Ferrari released its last hypercar, but it seems this one is worth the wait.
Codenamed the ‘F250’, the sleek motor is said to have taken inspiration from the Le Mans-winning Ferrari 499P racer.
Although there are no visible badges on this prototype, the iconic Ferrari script is easy to see on the brake calipers at both axles.
And the long-awaited successor to LaFerrari is rumoured to get a hybrid V6 powertrain using tech from famous F1 and Le Mans racers, reports Auto Express.
Cutouts in the roof reveal the crown jewel from Maranello will also boast butterfly doors.
The final name is still a secret, so for now, it goes only by the internal codename F250.
Petrolheads were also warned to not pay too much attention to the camo bodywork which is there to hide the real panels from prying eyes.
The Italian hypercar prototype wears a huge aerodynamic package, designed to squash the supercar into the tarmac at all road speeds.
The bodywork is peppered with cooling ducts and hidden aero trickery to help it cleave the air efficiently.
Motor experts are predicting an all-wheel drive setup with the front axle drawing power exclusively from at least one, but probably two, electric motors.
Car whizzes at Auto Express have said that the F250 could be the “most extreme road-going Ferrari model yet.”
And rumours suggest the Ferrari F250 will be a limited-series production car, with around 600 examples to be made.
It comes as Ferrari also launched a brand new supercar with an eye-catching feature.
Dubbed “a moving sculpture” on the Ferrari website the car is certainly a thing of beauty with its sleek design and powerful motor twinned with the prancing horse’s usual style and grace.
It also showcases the latest developments in suspension, transmission, stability control and braking control systems, making it an all-around great.
The car hits lightning speeds of up to 199mph and smashes through 62mph in just 2.3 seconds – one of the quickest cars off the mark ever seen off a racetrack.
Some are even calling back to the olden days of Enzo Ferrari and the F40.
