Jim Harbaugh Blames Media for Overhyping Michigan-Ohio State Rivalry Game
After Michigan’s win over archrival Ohio State, Wolverines coach Jim Harbaugh had some strong words for the media about how coverage of The Game has evolved.
Harbaugh, who wasn’t in attendance for his team’s 30–24 win on Saturday while serving his suspension for the program’s sign-stealing scandal, told reporters Monday that the media attention surrounding the storied matchup is creating a bad environment for players.
“I think that is very manufactured for the TV show people want to see,” Harbaugh said. “It’s not healthy for the student-athletes.”
Saturday’s win marked the third year in a row that the Wolverines were able to come out on top against the Buckeyes. The victory also stamped the team’s ticket to the Big Ten title game this weekend against Iowa.

Kick off for the conference championship between the Wolverines (12–0, 9–0 Big Ten) and Hawkeyes (10–2, 7–2) is scheduled for Saturday at 8 p.m. ET on Fox at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis.
