1 wounded in Montgomery Co. shooting; schools lift shelter-in-place

A man was wounded during a shooting in Montgomery County, Maryland, Monday that caused four nearby schools to temporarily shelter in place as a precaution.
It happened around 11:45 a.m. on Lost Knife Circle, near Montgomery Village Middle School, Watkins Mill Elementary, Stedwick Elementary and Whetstone Elementary, Montgomery County police said.
The schools’ shelter-in-place order was in place for more than an hour but it has since been lifted.
The man who was shot has injuries that are not considered life-threatening, police said.
Witnesses told police that the wounded man was also hit over the head with a machete.
Police said they have no suspect in custody.
