I have a ‘soft life’ with zero worries, but there are downsides, a bad DoorDash order makes me want to cry
WHILE a life without pressing worries seems ideal, one carefree soul said it creates its own, new set of problems.
She cries at the slightest inconvenience.
The term “soft life” has made its rounds among Millennials and Gen Zers alike because of the work-life balance it promotes.
To live a soft life is to live a life without struggle and stress, rejecting the hustle culture that is often glamorized.
According to fortune.com, a soft life doesn’t exactly mean you don’t have a job, but it simply means your job isn’t your whole world.
TikToker Michelle Diaz (@bymichellediaz), however, said it’s not all it’s cracked up to be.
“I literally have no worries at all. I never knew it was possible to live this soft of a life,” she began in the clip.
“But let’s talk about the downside.”
Because of her relaxed lifestyle, she’s not used to having any problems or inconveniences.
“[So] I have lost a lot of my tolerance. What do I mean by this? I can be going about my day and then I get the wrong DoorDash order, and I will want to cry.
“The smallest problem will feel like a huge problem, because I am just not used to problems.”
She said this adjustment means she has had to work on her emotional intelligence in order to realize it’s not the end of the world.
“So yes, living a soft life is amazing, but problems and inconveniences are going to be so foreign to you to the point where they will feel like a huge deal.”
Viewers had some thoughts about her explanation.
“Well, isn’t that why they say celebrities are out of touch? Because they don’t have daily problems,” one suggested.
“Oh, is this where Karen’s come from?” a second quipped.
“What I do to keep myself level-headed is to always be grateful for my soft life. I journal, pray, keep myself in check to not become a brat,” another revealed.
