Home Depot billionaire says he'll continue funding Trump campaign — even if he's convicted
Home Depot co-founder Bernie Marcus said he would continue to fund Donald Trump's campaign even if the former president is convicted of a crime.
In a Tuesday interview with Reuters, Marcus said the four criminal cases against the Republican frontrunner were "trumped up."
The billionaire said that he had recently spoken to Trump.
"I never discussed his legal fees or his legal problems," he remarked, noting that Trump was "very happy" to have his support.

Reuters observed that during the 2020 presidential election cycle, Marcus was the seventh-largest individual Republican donor. He gave nearly $25 million to see Trump re-elected.
Marcus, 94, suggested he wouldn't fund Trump at the same level in the 2024 campaign.
"Of course, I'm going to support him to some extent, but I'm not one of his big givers, that's for sure," he told Reuters.
