Stormy start to Wednesday

Hello Friends,
It was raining lightly and the wind was NNE 9-14 kts as of 0730. Out at sea the mix of south and east swell clocked in at 2 metres at 7 seconds as of 0500.
By the time I grabbed the pic at Manly an hour or so later, we were having a break in the gloom, but surfwise the conditions were looking pretty sad. The ocean is a jumbled mess and surf options are minimal. The next day or so could see some pretty energetic weather, so I’m not hopeful for Thursday. Maybe Friday will come together for us… maybe.

Weather Situation
An inland low pressure system is deepening, with a couple of troughs extending from the low, one across the far west and the other extending to the north coast, directing east to northeasterly airstream across the coast. The trough along the north coast is expected to move southwards this morning and deepen to a low pressure system off the South Coast later today. This will bring strong east to northeasterly winds along the coast over the next couple of days, reaching gale force along the South Coast today. Winds will turn westerly in many parts on Thursday as the low and its associated trough slowly heads off to the western Tasman Sea.
