Michigan rises and Ohio State tumbles in penultimate 2023 College Football Playoff rankings
Michigan taking down Ohio State this past Saturday has caused a massive shake up in the 2023 College Football Playoff rankings.
The Wolverines have jumped to the ranking’s second spot with that crucial rivalry win, while the Buckeyes have fallen out of the top-four teams to the sixth spot.
The path to the College Football Playoff for each of the top-8 teams in contention
Georgia still reigns supreme over all teams in college football with the first spot in the rankings, while Washington moves up to that third spot after its last-second win over Washington State.
Florida State once again joins the top-four teams after its win over Florida at No. 4.
Oregon sits at the fifth spot on the outside looking in, though the Ducks could possibly cement a spot in the final four with a win over Washington in the Pac-12 Championship on Friday.
Other notable takeaways include Louisville dropping to out of the top 10 after its loss to Kentucky and Texas and Alabama holding firm at spots No. 7 and No. 8, respectively.
We’ll be counting down the rankings as they come every Tuesday until conference championship weekend until the College Football Playoff committee determines the top-4 teams on Sunday, Dec. 3.
