Biden to take on Boebert in her home state after she attacked 'garbage' bill
Rep. Lauren Boebert (R-CO) has been furiously railing against the Inflation Reduction Act of 2022, attacking it as a "massive failure" and calling for it to be "repealed." The far-right MAGA Republican has been equally critical of the bipartisan Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act of 2021, which she attacked as "garbage" despite the fact that it enjoyed the support of conservative Republicans like former Sen. Rob Portman (R-OH) and Sen. Thom Tillis (R-NC).
President Joe Biden, meanwhile, has been touting those laws as some of his top achievements.
According to Associated Press reporters Fatima Hussein and Chris Megerian, Biden will be defending his job creation record when he visits Boebert's district Wednesday.
"Biden plans to tour CS Wind, the world's largest facility for wind tower manufacturing, in the town of Pueblo," Hussein and Megerian explain. "The trip was originally scheduled for last month, but it was delayed as the Democratic president focused on the outbreak of war between Israel and Hamas."
CS Wind, according to the AP reporters, "is undergoing a $200 million expansion that is expected to create 850 jobs by 2026 with help from the tax benefits in the Inflation Reduction Act, which included hundreds of billions of dollars of financial incentives."
The Biden White House, Hussein and Megerian report, said that in Pueblo, the president will promote his green agenda and argue that "self-described MAGA Republicans like Rep. Lauren Boebert are threatening those investments, jobs, and opportunities."
