'Pathetic even for her': Critics slam Elise Stefanik over latest Trump brown-nosing

Rep. Elise Stefanik (R-NY) continued her efforts to ingratiate herself with former President Donald Trump by encouraging her fellow Republicans to put "Trump badges" on their fundraising appeals.

As reported by Politico's Jake Sherman, Stefanik told colleagues on Wednesday that "she has received a 25% bump in digital fundraising since using the 'Trump badge' on her solicitations," which indicates to supporters that she has endorse his third presidential bid.

"Stefanik said she can help those who endorsed Trump get this badge," added Sherman.

Many of Sherman's Twitter followers, however, were less than impressed with the New York Congresswoman's efforts and they let her have it in the replies.

"This is pathetic, even for Stefanik," wrote one.

"Shouldn’t it be called the trump STAIN?" wrote another.

"It's like yelling out Unclean, Unclean, Unclean when you walk in a room," joked one user.

Former Rep. Adam Kinzinger (R-IL) also had some unkind words to say about his one-time colleague.

"Could you imagine saying these words in front of adults?" he wrote. "Good God it’s a cult."
