A Place in the Sun fans rip into couple for ‘taking the p**s’ with ‘insulting’ property stunt
A PLACE in the Sun fans have slammed a house-hunting couple after they offered way below the asking price of a stunning St Lucia property.
The guests on the show offered the owners of the exotic home £55,000 less than the market price.

The married couple told the presenter that they desired a detached home with plenty of outdoor space.
The property was on sale for an eye-watering £245,000, but the couple only had a maximum budget of £205,000.
The pair started off by offering the owners £190,000, and fans were fuming.
After the episode aired, some show viewers were unimpressed at the couple’s offer and took to X(Twitter) to express their feelings.
One user wrote: “£190,000 cheeky g**!”
Another added: “£190k insulting, not cheeky.”
A third penned: “Not a chance.”
A fourth typed: “Taking the p**s [sic].”
During the episode, Jean showed them a few houses around the beautiful island, but Andrea and Garry fell head over heels for the last property they were taken to, which was a villa with uninterrupted views of Marigot Bay.
The couple were speechless as they were convinced that home was what they were looking for, so they decided to tell Jean they wanted to make an offer, even though it was way above their spending limit.
Gary addressed Jean and said: “Taking everything into account, even though it’s a beautiful property, there’s no air conditioning.
“So that’s a big thing for us we’d like to put some air conditioning in and a few little minor things around the property.
“We’d like to go in at £190,000. You do look surprised, I know. We’re cash buyers, a straight-through process.”
After a few back-and-forths regarding the final price, the couple walked away with a big win after the owner settled for £208,3000, which was £3,000 more than their final offer.
Last week, viewers of the show were also less than impressed after a couple on the show were shown a property by Jean, which they compared to a ‘prison’.
A Place in the Sun continues weekdays on Channel 4 from 4pm.
