HUNDREDS of furious Coronation Street fans complained to Ofcom after violent knife crime scenes on the ITV soap.
135 of those watching the show weren’t happy with what played out on their screens, so they complained to the TV regulator.
The complaints were from last Wednesday’s (22 November) instalment, as viewers thought that the theme of knife crime was unsuitable for pre-watershed hours.
Corrie fans were left horrified when Liam Connor was threatened with a knife by bully Mason last week.
The school boy has had a hard time recently after being terrorised by the thug and his gang.
Things took a sinister turn when Mason and his gang bumped into Liam after school.
Mason started to terrorise Liam, and even pushed him to the ground while recording him, and Liam started to cry.
The boys mocked the youngster for getting emotional as they threw rubbish at him
Liam suddenly got up and hit Mason’s mobile out of his hand.
Just seconds later an angry Mason turned and got a knife from under his shirt.
He shouted: “Do it again. Do it again!”
Fans watching at home were heartbroken for Liam.
One wrote: “Liam being bullied is too much why they putting that poor boy thro this he’s too cute like just get Garry to sort that mason out PROPERLY.”
A second said: “The soaps don’t need people like Mason on them!”
Another added: “Powerful bullying storyline on Coronation Street. Hard enough as an adult – can’t imagine how hard it is for kids. No escape from mobile phones. Bullies really are the lowest of the low.”
Recently fans shared their fears for Liam’s well-being after he got Dylan Wilson to sell a backpack full of dodgy vapes.
However his dad Sean Tully found them and ended up throwing them down the sink.
This meant that Dylan was in debt to Mason, so he made him give him his shoes.
When Sean went to the school, Mason’s evil pals planted his trainers back in Liam’s locker so it looked like he had done it.
It looks like things are about to get worse for the young lad.
