Police investigating shooting of 16-year-old in Waterbury
A 16-year-old is in stable condition after a shooting in Waterbury on Wednesday morning, police said.
Officers responded to Waterbury Hospital at 8:16 a.m. Wednesday on a report of a gunshot victim arriving at the emergency room, according to the Waterbury Police Department.
Officers learned that the victim, identified as a 16-year-old male, sustained a gunshot wound. The teen was transferred to Connecticut Children’s Medical Center in Hartford with a non-life-threatening injury and was listed in stable condition on Wednesday, police said.
Police said Wednesday it is unknown where the shooting occurred, and the incident remains an active investigation.
