Over 300 local children have been introduced to Championship football this season thanks to Queen’s Park’s ‘Ticket for Schools’ Programme and Scotland’s oldest Football Club are delighted to advise that there are places available for more children to come along.
The ‘Tickets for Schools’ Programme looks to build a positive partnership between the Spiders and their supporters of the future through not only handing in match tickets, transport to and from the game along with visits from a Men’s First Team player.
The player does not only visit to provide the tickets for the pupils and associated adults, but they will also give out scarves and t-shirts and take part in Question-and-Answer session before the children attend a game, about life as a professional footballer, and then a similar event afterwards to talk about the 90 minutes of action.
So far pupils from Braidbar, Eaglesham, Giffnock, St Fillan’s and Thornliebank have come along to games at The National Stadium at Hampden with Queen’s Park’s club partners McDades Coaches providing transport to and from the ground when required.
Queen’s Park’s Head of Commercial Kieran Koszary said: “The ‘Tickets for Schools’ Programme has brought a lot of children to Queen’s Park games that may not have come along and also generated a lot of smiles both during the player visits and the games.”
“The Question-and-Answer sessions are always lively and my thanks go to the players for the support they have provided this season. We still have space for pupils to come along at games this season and I look forward to getting them filled.”
