Democrats 'yelling and screaming' is why Hunter Biden can't testify publicly: James Comer
Rep. James Comer (R-KY) explained that a public hearing for Hunter Biden would be unacceptable because there would be too much "screaming and yelling" from the Democrats.
The House Oversight Committee chairman told NewsmaxTV that President Joe Biden's son could still appear for a public hearing, but only after sitting for a potentially hours-long deposition behind closed doors, and he compared the Republican subpoena to one issued to Steve Bannon by the Jan. 6 committee.
"Steve Bannon said he will not come in for deposition, but he will come in for a public hearing," Comer said. "[Rep.] Jamie Raskin went on 'Face the Nation' and said, 'Absolutely not, he can have a public hearing after he does the deposition.' He refused to do the deposition and Congress held Steve Bannon in contempt of court. We will treat Hunter Biden the exact same way the Jan. 6 committee treated Steve Bannon."

"Look, this is a serious investigation," he continued. "This is about public corruption at the highest levels of our government. We have over 10,000 pages of documents that we've obtained pertaining to Hunter Biden's financial transactions with our enemies around the world.
"We need to ask him hundreds of questions if he comes in for one hearing. With 24 members having five minutes each to ask questions, with the Democrats yelling and screaming like they do every hearing, we would probably get about 30 to 35 questions, then we need to ask him hundreds of questions about specific transactions with our enemies around the world. We will gladly have a public venue for Hunter Biden, I welcome that, and we will do that after he comes in for the deposition on Dec. 13."
