Robert Saleh and the Jets are at the mercy of Aaron Rodgers' ego for better or for worse

If nothing else, Aaron Rodgers is always going to be strikingly on-brand.

On Wednesday, Rodgers and the New York Jets attempted to shake up the internet by letting fans know that his 21-day practice window had been activated.

If you’ve been keeping track of this storyline, Rodgers injured his Achilles in September. That injury usually takes several months, if not more, to heal. The four-time league MVP and his camp are implicating with a possible December return that his recovery is ahead of schedule.

The Jets are all in on Rodgers financially and emotionally (sorry, Zach Wilson. They played you.) and seem in lockstep with his decision to return. During media availability, head coach Robert Saleh attempted to downplay how much Rodgers was involved in his decision to return so soon.

However, make no mistake: this is absolutely in the “I’m Aaron Rodgers, and nobody tells me what to do”  brand book guidelines.

Somewhere, Aaron Rodgers and his ego are probably screaming, “Your fave could NEVER. It’s just a little Achilles tear.”
