Linlithgow Rugby Club looking for new Community Coach
Linlithgow RFC currently has an exciting opportunity for 2 community coaches to join the rugby development team with the aim to help promote and develop school rugby within West Lothian and South Queensferry. As part of our community rugby objectives alongside Scottish Rugby’s development strategy, we are looking to recruit two community coaches to help fulfil this role in the east region.
Linlithgow Rugby Club are popular community club based in the heart of West Lothian. We are very proud to have produced successful youth rugby across all age groups from preschool to U18s as well as a competitive and ambitious senior rugby section with a regular 1st and 2nd XV and an occasional 3rd XV running out at our home ground Mains Park. The club aims to become a hub for all rugby in the area while being inclusive and open to all who love the game.
Role Title: Community Coach (Part Time)
Reporting to: LRFC Rugby Manager
Contract Type: Contract for Services (January 2024 – June 2024)
Location: Linlithgow, West Lothian (Scottish Rugby East Region)
Rate of pay: £12.50 per hour, plus travel expenses.
Key Responsibilities:
– Lead and assist in delivering rugby to all clubs and schools under the Development Teams remit.
– Support existing development staff in the delivery of high–quality rugby sessions and festivals to primary schools.
– Champion coaching and playing standards within Linlithgow Rugby Clubs youth and mini sections.
– Plan and deliver School of Rugby Sessions and afterschool clubs in Armadale, Linlithgow, and Queensferry Secondary schools.
– Assist Linlithgow RFC S1 – S3 on Saturday morning matches when required.
Role Requirements
– Flexible approach to working hours, some evening and weekend work will be required.
– Exemplary time keeping and organisational skills.
– Effectively liaise and communicate with coaches, players, volunteers, admin and other stakeholders within the club
– Previous coaching experience is necessary however some training and CPD will be provided.
– Appropriate coaching/referee qualifications, or willing to obtain.
– A Valid driving license.
– An appropriate Disclosure Scotland PVG will be essential.
