BART suspends service between SF and Oakland after person enters trackway
SAN FRANCISCO – BART service was stopped Wednesday night between San Francisco and Oakland after a person entered the tracks near the Embarcadero Station in San Francisco, the transit agency said.
“We currently have BART police on the scene at Embarcadero working to make contact and to clear the trackway,” BART spokesperson Anna Duckworth said in a recorded message around 5:25 p.m.
“But we have had to truncate service between Embarcadero and 19th Street Station in Oakland due to this incident,” she said.
Duckworth said the transit agency has requested mutual aid in the form of bus bridges.
