Trapped in the Silkyara tunnel in Uttarakhand for 17 days, five workers from Odisha, including Dhiren Naik from Mayurbhanj, survived on puffed rice for 10 days until they received cooked food. They communicated with the outside world by sending messages through water pipes. The workers used their phones sparingly due to a lack of network and were later provided chargers by the rescuers. The rescue team also connected the workers with their families before their evacuation. Bhagban Bhatra from Nabarangpur expressed gratitude towards the rescue team for saving their lives.
