The Gurugram Metropolitan Development Authority (GMDA) has started fencing open drains in the city to prevent waste dumping and fatal incidents. Approximately 4.5km of drain length is being fenced, with 2.5km already completed. The fencing work has been done in various areas including Udyog Vihar, Ashok Vihar, and Ghadouli Village. The GMDA is installing grills up to 6 feet in height to ensure the safety of human and animal life. Additionally, they are constructing a new master drain along the Southern Peripheral Road to improve the drainage network.
