England captain Ben Stokes underwent a successful procedure on his left knee in preparation for the Test series in India. Stokes, who was limited to batting in the recent World Cup due to his physical condition, was also unable to bowl in the final three Ashes Tests against Australia. He had previously announced that he would undergo surgery after the World Cup. Stokes will now begin his rehabilitation to be fit for the five-match Test series in India starting on January 25.
